"The eight people, including one woman and two minors, suspected of slaying Tiszavasvár teacher Lajos Szögi in Olaszliszka, Borsod county in the autumn of 2006 took the stand at Borsod county court on Monday to face charges of manslaughter with particular brutality.In front of his own two daughters, Szögi was kicked to death by eight Roma after the teacher brushed past an 11-year-old local girl with his car. The girl suffered slight injuries. Only the first defendant admitted the crime, while the others denied it. A local resident rescued the teacher’s two daughters from the scene of the lynching.
The defendants could receive life imprisonment if convicted."
