Now Showing In Budapest: 'Vantage Point'

Now Showing In Budapest: 'Vantage Point'
"The President is shot soon after he arrives in Spain. The event is captured by several different people. It’s only as we follow each person’s perspective of the same 15 minutes prior to and immediately after the shooting that the terrifying truth behind the assassination attempt is revealed.

Movie type: Action Thriller - This is a mystery/action thriller with an unconventional storytelling structure, telling one story from eight different perspectives. While this is on the whole an ensemble film the main star is Dennis Quaid; fans of lesser-used stars here, such as Sigourney Weaver, may be disappointed. The film is aimed toward an adult audience and is too intense and complex for kids.

Director: Pete Travis

Script: Barry Levy

Starring: Dennis Quaid (Thomas Barnes), Matthew Fox (Kent Taylor), Sigourney Weaver (Rex)

Length: 1 hr. 24 min.

Reviews:

“Above Average Vantage Point offers a modicum of entertainment but it requires viewers to react more forcefully from the gut than the mind. It's viscerally effective but lobotomized. “Berardinelli, Internet Critic

“Average Like too many action-adventure movies that are short on plot intricacies but long on gimmick and explosives, too much is given away in the trailer.” USA Today

“Average At a certain point its sheer can-you-top-this excess takes over, credibility flies out the window and there's no reason to continue paying attention.” TV Guide Online

“Average 'Vantage Point' trafficks in corrupted points of view. While the varying perspectives enable us to revise our sense of what actually went down, each chapter contains information that could never be available to the character at its focus. It's a big, adrenalin-pumping cheat.” Newsday
