Now Showing In Budapest: 'We Own the Night'

Now Showing In Budapest: 'We Own the Night'
"As decorated NYPD cops Joseph Grusinsky and his father, Burt, prepare to take on a newly powerful and dangerous Russian drug dealer, they never thought they would be turning to Joseph’s black sheep brother, Bobby. Caught in the middle, Bobby and his girlfriend, Amada, are forced to choose sides – between the familial ties he has rejected and a future he cannot avoid.”

Movie type: Crime Thriller - This is a character driven drama with minimal action or suspense. It's about the strength of family love between two very different brothers. It has several somewhat emotional scenes, some graphic sexual content and lots of f-words. Fortunately, it's very well written and acted.

Director: James Gray

Script: James Gray

Starring: Joaquin Phoenix (Bobby Green), Mark Wahlberg (Joseph Grusinsky), Eva Mendes (Amada Juarez)

Length: 1 hr. 57 min.

Reviews:

”Good As cop/crime dramas go, this one offers little that's new but it takes the time to develop the characters and that's where its strengths lie.“ Berardinelli, Internet Critic

”Good But this is an atmospheric, intense film, well acted, and when it's working it has a real urgency.” Roger Ebert

”Good Some of the story becomes melodramatic, and the dialogue can be banal, but the performances are strong, marked by conflicted emotions.” USA Today

”Above Average ...Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg for a return to New York City's outer boroughs in this earnestly acted, typically dour but dully formulaic crime drama.” TV Guide Online
