"At the fourth Tennis Classics event Chargé d’Affaires Theresa Bubbear handed over two Olympic mascots to top tennis players wishing them all the best for their Olympic preparations."This year’s Tennis Classics that was attended by Theresa Bubbear accompanied by her husband proved to be a huge success. The British Embassy was given the opportunity to promote London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games at this prestigeous occasion. After the main exhibition match Mrs. Bubbear persented two Wenlock mascots to French number one player Gael Monfils and Spanish top player Fernando Verdasco, then answered the questions of the speaker about Olympic and Paralympic preparations in the middle of the tennis court in front of 7000 spectators.
To also promote Paralympics the British Embassy donated tickets for this event, so successful Hungarian para-athleets – who received a very warm welcome from the crowd - could also enjoy the masters of tennis. With this London 2012 promotion the Embassy was able to reach several thousands of sport loving Hungarians who followed the matches live or through Sport Television."
