Xpat Community Ezine / Thursday 06 March 2014
Dear Member, first for your interest here are two new Xpat Interviews:

* Brigitta Markovics, Managing Director at Nouba. After four years in France, she now runs Nouba in Hungary, providing hostesses for the hospitality industry. Example Q&A’s: If you could be an expat anywhere in the world, where would you live? “I have had the privilege to live in several European cities (Paris, Lisbon, London), but I would choose somewhere faraway, Mexico or Australia”. Your favorite place in Hungary? “Balaton, namely the northern shore”. Your personal motto? “Life is not about milestones, but about moments.”

* László Puczkó, BKF University of Applied Sciences - Head of School for Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality. He is (co-)author of numerous books, including Health and Wellness Tourism, From Attractions to Experiences, Tourism in Historic Cities. Example Q&A’s: Where did you grow up? In Gyula, a medium sized historic spa town. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do? “...a ruin-pub-crawl, visit Szécheny Bath, walk from Buda Castle to Városliget”. Your favourite place in Hungary? “Balaton and Lillafüred”.

You are also very welcome to take our 20 question challenge. As you may know, we define 'Xpat' to include both expatriates and high-value locals who move in international circles, so you see we're keen on Xpat Feedback from anyone and everyone in the loop here.

Now here's hoping you like what's included for you below.
Yours sincerely with kind regards, Stephen@XpatLoop.com

You Either Have It Or You Don’t

"You Either Have It Or You Don’t", says local expat Mary Murphy, a woman who definitely has it, perhaps by virtue of her Irish roots. She presides over Budapest’s only English-language 'Speech Slam', which is going from strength to strength. ‘It’, of course, is that (quintessentially Irish) ability to talk to anyone, anywhere, about anything, aka the 'Gift Of The Gab'. Now in its fourth season, this social / cultural / charity / interactive event is held over six months, building up the final which this time will be held on the 12th of March. more »
