Xpat Community Ezine / Thursday 12 November 2015
Dear Member, you’ll be happy to hear the grand total raised last week at the Xpat Party for Charity was nearly exactly HUF 2.7 million. For you to see who was there, and what went on, there are now three photo galleries online here.

Every single forint donated on the night by your fellow Xpats (as you know, Xpats = expats and internationally minded locals) will go to help Hungarian children in need via UNICEF, Lions Club, and the ‘Make-a-Wish’ Foundation'.

Next up this week, as part of the popular Xpat Interview series we’d like to quickly introduce: Nora Kenyeres, Founder & CEO of Match Made Abroad -  the first certified matchmaker in Hungary, who completed the Matchmaking Institute’s training program in New York.

Example Q&A’s: Your favourite place in Hungary? Budapest, and Tihany! Your favourite food? Derelye (a type of Hungarian filled pasta, which can be either sweet or savoury). What makes you excited? Well, I’m hosting a ‘Singles Mingle’ event for expats in the near future, so let’s say that!

Now here's hoping you like what's included for you below.
Yours sincerely with kind regards, Stephen@XpatLoop.com

“What Do You Drink?”: Mitiszol Festival 2015, 14 November
“What Do You Drink?”: Mitiszol Festival 2015, 14 NovemberMitiszol? (“me-tea-sol”, meaning “what do you drink?”) is the country’s first drink festival themed around beverages made with the same philosophy: respecting nature (in many cases organic or even biodynamic farming), no additives, as little intervention and manipulation as possible during production. The result is a drink, let it be alcoholic or non-alcoholic, that not only tastes better, but is also healthier than its conventional counterparts. more »

Quality Local Meat & Service 'Guaranteed' At Tesco In Hungary
Quality Local Meat & Service 'Guaranteed' At Tesco In HungaryTesco sells about 1 million kilograms of fresh meat per week in Hungary. 100% of the poultry, 90% of fish, and 60% of red meat sold nationwide are purchased from domestic suppliers. Also, a Tesco spokesperson told XpatLoop the company significantly contributes to Hungarian meat exports, providing Hungarian poultry in several of its European stores, especially in the Czech Republic and the UK. And we're reliably informed that all its meat products are rigorously tested through a multi-stage quality control process before they hit the counters. more »
