The 4th Sekler Cake Festival, or the big Hungarian bake-off, will fill the heart of the city with the fragrance of heavenly 'Sekler cakes' once more this weekend. Chimney Cake, or in Hungarian Kürtős Kalács, is a typical Hungarian pastry, which is baked on a tapered cylindrical spit over an open fire. It originates from Transylvania. The name derives from the Hungarian words kürtő, meaning chimney or stove pipe, and kalács meaning milk-loaf. more »
