Budapest’s District 13 has seen a boost in investor sentiment lately, as more than 120,000 square meters of new office space are currently being developed while several projects are waiting to be launched, Ferenc Furulyás, CEO of real estate services firm JLL Hungary, said last week at an event focusing on the Váci Corridor area of the capital.

What does VinCE stand for?
As suggested by its name, the primary focus of the event is wine (as in vin) exhibited in Central Europe (CE). 160 exhibitors are scheduled to take part in the event with exhibitors coming from Hungary and the neighboring countries but some winemakers from outside the region will also offer their bottles for tasting between 17 - 19 March in Corinthia Hotel Budapest.

The petition for a local referendum about Budapest to withdraw its bid for hosting the Summer Olympics in 2024 has significantly deteriorated Hungary’s chances in the competition to become a host city, the non-profit company that drafted the bid said on Saturday.

Zsolt Borkai, head of the Hungarian Olympic Committee (MOB), said that the opposition parties had weakened the capital’s chances of staging the 2024 Games. It is now up to the municipal council to decide whether Budapest intends to stay in the running to host the event, he said.
