When I came to Budapest many pints of Guinness ago, there weren’t too many places celebrating St. Patrick’s day. Now the city has many venues that embrace this joyous occasion, none more so than one of the original Irish pubs in town.

Entry is free, so if you fancy a taste of a pig that came close to extinction just a few decades ago, pop along to Szabadság Tér for a bite of magnificent mangalica meat - said to be tastier and healthier than regular pork. As you may know, this festival is named after a delicious furry pig that's indigenous to Hungary, this year the event is held again in downtown Budapest next weekend.

Good news! The summer hasn’t finished after all. With the organisers postponing the original date of this event due to bad weather, this weekend they got the timing spot on. I choose the Sunday, which turned out to be a beautiful warm sunny day. The 'Cinque Terre' is an incredibly beautiful yet rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. It is in the Liguria region of Italy, to the west of the city of La Spezia.
