Week-Long Kurtág 90 Festival Starts Sunday

Hungarian and international musicians will pay their respects to composer and pianist György Kurtág to celebrate his 90th birthday at a week-long festival starting on Sunday. The Kurtág 90 festival organised by the Budapest Music Center (BMC) will be held between February 14 and 21.

Online video streamer Netflix launched its service in Hungary and 129 other countries simultaneously as of January 6, co-founder and CEO Reed Hastings announced at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Netflix was present in 60 countries prior to this expansion.

Retail sales in Hungary climbed by 4.7% in August from the same month a year earlier, preliminary data released by the Central Statistical Office on Monday show. The central organiser of the fraud scam that evaded VAT payments by falsely claiming to have exported electronics appliances to Slovakia was Hódmezõvásárhely-based Bravotech, Népszabadság reports. The company is the owner of Electro-Quality, Bemutatoterem.net, Ármátrix and Expert Magyarország.
