'Sand In My Eyes', Sudanese Travelling Exhibition, 3 - 30 May

The photographer and author Enikö Nagy has spent several years collecting everyday moments - in photography and spoken word - from over 45 tribes and ethnic groups across 30,000km of Sudan, in some of the hardest-to-access regions of the world, to produce the English-Arabic bilingual poetic picture book SAND IN MY EYES: Sudanese Moments, that this exhibition is drawn from.
Jewish Cultural Festival In Budapest Approaching

Budapest’s annual Jewish Cultural Festival will begin on Sunday and run for a week with concerts, theatre performances and film screenings. The biggest concerts will be held at the Great synagogue on Dohány utca, while theatre productions, concerts and film screenings will take place at the Goldmark Hall and the Rumbach utca synagogue.

Budapest Pride Festival began on 3 July with the official opening ceremony! This year’s motto "Empowered by 20 years” allows us take a look back at the past two decades of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) tradtions, and refers to the power of the community, its (self) organization and presence, which can be the only way to achieve equal rights and social justice.

October 23 is a national holiday in Hungary, commemorating the 1956 revolution against the Soviet rule, which was later crushed by brute force. The uprising began as a spontaneous nationwide revolt against the government of the Hungarian People’s Republic and its Soviet-imposed policies, lasting from 23 October until 10 November 1956. The movie focuses on a critical moment of conscience in America’s democratic and constitutional history – President Lincoln’s struggle to pass the 13th Amendment, thereby abolishing slavery. ...
