We rarely meet representations of the countryside amongst the monuments of antique art preserved to us, and there are practically no landscape pictures in the modern sense of the term. There is, however, one sphere in which landscape elements play an essential role: the decorative art of the first two centuries of the Roman imperial period.

By Kathy Megyeri: In 2007, my husband was awarded the Gold Cross of Merit of the Republic of Hungary for his outstanding actions during the 1956 Revolution, his promotion of Hungary's membership to NATO, and his achievements among Hungarian Americans. Just like other expat kids in Hungary, on Monday morning this week Shiloh, Pax and Maddox all attended class in Budapest. Unlike most expat children though the Jolie-Pitt kids had former-SAS bodyguards, as well as police and paparazzi, around them at the start of school. Some local mothers were apparently disappointed that Angelina didn't bother taking the kids to school herself, Brad wasn't ...

"The Alchemy of Beauty (Parmigianino) exhibition has been extended until 11 April 2010. The graceful elegance of Parmigianino’ works was regarded by his contemporaries and the succeeding generations as the perfection of style. The Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest does not preserve any of his paintings, however, we own an extensive collection of his drawings and prints.
