The largest ever conference on Hungary’s 1956 anti-Soviet uprising will be organised this week in Eger, in northern Hungary, the head of the 1956 Institute Foundation said. The three-day conference starting on Thursday will feature 258 speakers, including historians, sociologists, psychologists, literary historians, art historians, artists as well as musicologists, M János Rainer said.

From April to May 2016, the Embassy of Canada in Budapest was home to a moving student-made art exhibit that creatively communicated the importance of human rights and the value of diversity. The exhibit, consisting of 10 art pieces and 3D installations, was the collective output of over 200 students, who participated in a project to promote tolerance and inclusion through media and education.

However, if you utter a few Hungarian words like TÚL SOK (pronounced like ’tool shock’, meaning ’too much’), the crafty vendors will take you more seriously under the shock of being addressed in Hungarian.
