The “Le Nozze di Figaro” staged concerts conducted and directed by Iván Fischer with the Budapest Festival Orchestra was considered as “highlight of the New York opera season” by The New York Times. Ivan Fischer, Music Director of the Budapest Festival Orchestra and the Konzerthaus Berlin, was awarded with an Honorary Membership of the Royal Academy of Music. The Honorary Membership is limited to 300 persons; Mendelssohn, Liszt, Stravinsky and Casals are amongst those who received this honour.
