Hungary faces a fine of 60-70 billion forints (EUR 190-225m) due to financial abuses linked to the Socialist-liberal administration during the metro 4 construction project, the government office chief said on Thursday. The government has established that the abuses did indeed take place but is endeavouring to get the fine reduced through negotiations, János Lázár told a regular press briefing.

On 11 November Budapestians Daniel Kaali and Brody House Group co-founder William Clothier travel to the Nevada desert to compete in the World’s Toughest Mudder (WTM) Event - a gruelling 24-hour non-stop obstacle course race. The bill, proposed last Tuesday and made more stringent with a modification on Monday, would impose unfulfillable requirements on CEU, which could strip it of its Hungarian accreditation.
