Fidesz lawmaker Gergely Gulyás outlined a bill supporting Budapest’s bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics in parliament on Tuesday, declaring that the capital is capable of hosting a “safe and successful” event. Dávid Klein, the Hungarian alpinist had conquered the top of the mountain without porters and oxygen tanks on Sunday afternoon by local time. He is the first Hungarian alpinist who has ever got to the peak of the 8091 meters high Annapurna in the Himalayas.

The annual swim across Lake Balaton between Révfülöp and Balatonboglár will be staged on Saturday, for the 33rd time. Organisers said that they expect thousands again to cover the 5.2km distance. Good weather is forecast, but organisers will make a final decision at noon on Thursday.
