Hungarians Celebrate National Poetry Day With Recitals & Book Kiosks

Each year, on 11 April, Hungarians come together to celebrate The Day of Hungarian Poetry. As a part of this event, held on the birthday of famed Hungarian poet Attila József since 1964, people young and old celebrated the inspiring achievements of their country’s greatest literary geniuses.
Sausage Festival In Budapest, 13 - 15 October

This annual festival featuring 250 types of spiced up meat will be held at the Hungarian Railway Museum this year. As well as lots of porky specials available along several 'Sausage Streets', there will be family programs, folklore shows, 'nostalgic music programs' and dance, plus apparently presentations of enormous sausages, during this three day special Hungarian gastro event.

These sweet delights will be the main attraction of this traditional event in the heart of Budapest. The highlight of the competition – reported the newspaper of the age – was a large-scale flower corso.
