I think the one thing most expats miss in Hungary is the sea, and perhaps not only the expats. Driving into the country the other day I saw on the one billboard blank of ads and propaganda someone had written: Now that we have a Mediterranean climate couldn’t we have a sea as well?

Good news! The summer hasn’t finished after all. With the organisers postponing the original date of this event due to bad weather, this weekend they got the timing spot on. I choose the Sunday, which turned out to be a beautiful warm sunny day. Updated Press Release: Due to the rainy weather, the organizers postponed the 10th Főzdefeszt to the second weekend of September at Felvonulási tér. They said, they would not like to see their favourite audience trying to sample the latest Hungarian craft-beers standing in the rain. The new date for the Főzdefeszt is 11-13 September.

Born in Rome, Anna is French and Canadian of Russian origin. Both sets of grandparents were born in Russia and escaped during the revolution in 1917 making their way to Paris where they settled. Eventually her paternal grandparents immigrated to New York and once again started new lives.
