From the first of September, due to the coronavirus pandemic, it will be necessary to introduce more stringent disease control regulations than in effect at present; the Operational Group will make recommendations regarding these at next week’s cabinet meeting, Gergely Gulyás, the Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office announced at a Governmentinfo press conference held on Wednesday.

A decree published in the latest issue of the official gazette Magyar Közlöny allows travel agents to issue vouchers instead of paying cash for cancellations made because of the coronavirus pandemic, but only if the clients who have cancelled opt in.

Looking to the future, the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, has said local and interurban transport operators will accept expired official travel documents allowing discounts up to 15 days after they expire on March 31.
