Being born and raised in Southern California I am often asked, what are you doing here in Budapest? The question is not so much of what bothers me rather the tone from the interrogator; one that implies that California is a dreamland and Budapest is, well, the opposite. I couldn’t disagree with this sentiment more.

Born in 1974 in Duisburg, Germany, the parents of Mr. Arisoy were ‘guest workers’ at that time, and in 1986 they went back to Turkey. In 1995 he completed the University of Marmara in Turkey, his studies were ‘German Didactic and Pedagogic’.

Mr. Derry has been involved in international education since 1991 and in school leadership since 1997. Prior to joining Nord Anglia Education, he has been Principal of schools in Africa, USA and Europe.
