12th 'Big' Burns Event, Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal, 24 January
During the past decade and more, the Budapest Burns Supper has grown from very humble beginnings to become one of the major events of the capital's farsang ball season. Along the way, it has raised tens of millions of forints to help sick Hungarian children.

Don't miss your chance to join in the fun, toast the life and works of Scotland's national bard, Rabbie Burns, wonder at the sheer number of men in kilts Budapest can boast, experience world champion pipers and drummers, haggis, whisky, Scottish dancing and more.

The 12th annual Budapest Burns Supper will be held at the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal on Saturday, starting at 6:30pm. Tickets cost Ft25,000, a table (10 to 12 places) is Ft300,000.

Last year was a record-breaking event, taking in more than Ft15 million for charity, but as Robert Burns International Foundation (RBIF) General Secretary Stephen Jones explained, the evening has a long pedigree. "We raise around Ft10 million clear from the Burns Supper, and have done for the past five years."

Money is given to health care centers and hospitals throughout the country. Each is asked to identify a piece of equipment or a specific project that needs support; money is never just handed over to disappear into a general fund.

For tickets or more information, email RNIF General Secretary Steve Jones or call him on +36/30 261-7145.
