'A Sunny Day in Glasgow Concert', Budapest Dürer Garden, 4 May
"The band A Sunny Day in Glasgow emerged in the early 2000's with synth-laden experimental dream-pop that echoed 1980's shoegaze acts like the Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine and Cocteau Twins.

The formula the band established with their first album in 2006 - that of textural ambience and the dense vocal melodies over conventional rhythm - is exploded on the second album released last year with perfect production to match depth to breadth.

The songs hum like electricity and thump like groundswells, surprising and shifting with innovative pacing and dynamics. But they also sound natural and unhurried, seamlessly patched.

A Sunny Day in Glasgow are writing years ahead of where they should be for such a young band, forming gargantuan records of consistently enjoyable and inventive melodic rock. And about the live shows, maybe the band's name can tell the most.

On May 4th, at the Dürer-kert at 8 pm.
