U.S. Embassy Supports CEU Youth LGBTQ Activism Forum
"As part of the U.S. Embassy’s strong promotion of diversity and tolerance initiatives, Ambassador Kounalakis delivered remarks at the opening of a three-day LGBTQ forum held at the Central European University on May 6.

The forum drew in students from across Europe, and was designed to provide its participants with tangible tools to improve, develop and empower their organizational and personal work in the LGBTQ rights and advocacy fields.

In her remarks, the Ambassador spoke about the work of Harvey Milk, California’s first openly gay person to be elected to public office. The Ambassador encouraged the forum’s participants to use the power of advocacy to continue building on the foundation set by the gay liberation movement’s pioneers."
