Vodafone Signs Sziget Sponsor Deal
"Vodafone signed a new type of sponsorship contract with festival organiser Sziget, the head of the Hungarian subsidiary, György Beck, announced on Friday.

In addition to traditional cash sponsorship, Vodafone and Sziget will share revenues from the telecom service used by festival goers, Napi Gazdaság reports.

The two companies signed a three-year framework agreement, said Sziget CEO Károly Gerendai. Daily entry tickets and coffee at the Sziget festival can be purchased via SMS Beck said, adding that the product range will be broadened later.

In addition, visitors who want a shorter stay at the Sziget festival can purchase a ticket via their mobile phone based on time spent there. A 24-hour stay by that method would cost Ft 13,500, more than the daily pass of Ft 12,000, the newspaper adds.

Sziget expects revenue from its annual island festival in Budapest to reach Ft 2.7 billion this August, up from Ft 2.6 billion last year. Only 68-70% of that is expected from ticket sales, down from 75% in 2009. The number of visitors is expected to remain stable at 390,000."
