Hungarian Gov’t To Repair Flood-Damaged Buildings
"The cabinet decided last week to repair public buildings damaged by this year’s floods and to upgrade community buildings in Borsod county.

Gyorgy Bakondi, head of the National Disaster Agency, told reporters after the cabinet meeting that the upgrade will be carried out under the supervision of architect Imre Makovecz.

Bakondi said the cabinet has refunded the state and local governments’ anti-flood costs and anticipates about Ft 5 billion from the EU’s Solidarity Fund.

The cabinet is asking the State Audit Office to examine the finances of the National Gypsy Authority for the first half of 2009."
