Leasing Market In Hungary Revs Up
"Discount food retailers, hypermarkets and clothing retailers are exploiting depressed office market prices and low leasing rates to expand with new outlets, Colliers International has found.

Associate director Szabolcs Koroknai of the property consultants told Napi Gazdasag that retail space is available in shopping centres from as low as €5-6 per square metre, with prices rising progressively to €9-10.

Clothing retailers such as C&A, H&M and New Yorker have also become more inclined to consider occupying new retail units, taking advantage of lower rental fees, said Erika Pal of Jones Lang LaSalle.

Animal food distributor Fressnapf is planning to open nine new retail outlets this year, in areas where it would not have dreamt of going before the economic crisis, Napi Gazdasag writes."
