Vanina Ickx To Contest The 1000km Of Hungaroring On 22 August
"Vanina Ickx, a Belgian Racing Driver, will contest the 1000km of Hungaroring this week-end. For the fourth round of the Le Mans Series, based around the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, she will drive an Aston Martin prototype.

Daughter of Jacky Ickx, famous belgian driver (F1, six wins at Le Mans), Vanina Ickx has a particular background. She was part of the Belgian team in horse jumping. Then, she was the first woman to cross the English Channel in an Ultra-Light plane (in 2002). She holds, at 136 km/h, the speed record on skis on a ski-jump.

She began in motorsport at 21 years old : she had three participations in the Paris-Dakar, two seasons with Audi in DTM and six starts at Le Mans 24 Hours. She drives this year an Aston Martin prototype for Team Signature, alongside Franck Mailleux and Pierre Ragues.

Only woman to race in Le Mans Series, she finished third of the last race at Portimao, Portugal. She will be looking again for the podium at Budapest."
