U. S. Embassy Volunteers To Rebuild Symbiosis Autistic Home In Miskolc
"On Saturday, September 25, volunteers from the United States Embassy in Budapest and from Habitat for Humanity will be reconstructing the Symbiosis Autistic Home in Miskolc. This building was severely damaged during the June floods.

The reconstruction team will consist of Embassy employees (American and Hungarian), American volunteers from Habitat for Humanity and representatives from Habitat for Humanity's Hungarian branch.

With the Embassy's participation in this event as well as in a blood drive organized by the Hungarian Red Cross on September 10, we hope to highlight the importance of community service and to give back to the local community. In the United States, President Obama declared September 11 to be a National Day of Service and Remembrance and we are following the inspiration of First Lady, Michelle Obama, who helped renovate a retirement home for veterans in Virginia.

Last year over 63 million Americans volunteered in their communities."
