Visit Andrássy Mansion In Tóalmás, Near Budapest
"Designed by Lajos Ybl, Renata Wahrmann had this mansion built between 1894 and 1895, preparing for the worthy celebration of the Millennium (the 1000th anniversary of the Hungarian Settlement). The luxurious Eclectic-style mansion of fifty rooms still stands as it did.

The entrance hall is ornamented with an arching, double staircase, a copy of the stairway of the Paris Opera. A glasshouse, built as a then-fashionable metal-framed structure, was built onto the mansion, which is surrounded by a landscaped garden.

In the first half of the 20th century, until World War II, the mansion was owned by the Counts Andrássy, who kept it for recreational and hunting purposes.

Since 1989 the building has been rented by the American religious foundation Word of Life (Élet Szava). The castle gardens are under conservation order and can be visited upon prior appointment with the Foundation."
