Visually Impaired Fulbright Grantees Strive For Inclusive Education In Hungary
"On January 17th, Ambassador Kounalakis recognized Fulbright grantees Maria Flamich and Rita Hoffmann for their leadership and extraordinary accomplishments in the fields of education and music. Ms. Flamich and Ms. Hoffman, who are both visually-impaired, are teachers at the Primary and Vocational School of the Blind.

They are set to embark on a five-month Fulbright program as visiting researchers at the University of California at Berkeley.

During their time at Berkeley, Ms. Flamich and Ms. Hoffmann will research U.S. methods of inclusive education. Upon their return, they plan organize teacher trainings on how to engage students with disabilities.

Visit the Hungarian-American Fulbright Commission’s website for more information on the Fulbright program."
