Hungary's OVB Declares LMP Incentives Illegal

"The National Election Commission (OVB) on Saturday ordered LMP to stop offering prizes to activists as part of its drive to collect signatures for a referendum. The OVB said it is illegal to promise gifts to those who collect the most signatures in 24 hours. The prizes on offer are a bicycle, a trip to the European Parliament, and a dinner with the winner’s favourite LMP MP.
LMP said it considers the decision a political one and will appeal the ruling.
The OVB decision is open to appeal and complaints are to be submitted to the Kúria, the successor to the Supreme Court."
