Invitation: 'Electric Ghosts', National Concert Hall Budapest, 24 April
Vincent Lê Quang and László Fassang performed together at Müpa in 2007. Following their crossover performance including everything from the classics to world music to jazz, they now invite the audience on a brand new musical adventure, in which their earlier improvisations reappear in a completely new form.

Alongside the sound of the organ and saxophone, musical clones produced with the assistance of speakers, born of the union between the music played and a computer program, will fill the enormous hall. The creators of the Omax program will handle the computer themselves, through which the audience may experience a musical manifestation populated with electric ghosts.

Georges Bloch and Gérard Assayag are associates of the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique (IRCAM), founded by Pierre Boulez. Their main area of research is the symbolic realisation of musical structures.

The Omax program, which Marc Chemillier helped develop, is capable of analysing any type of music and to reproduce the music in an improvised form based on the parameters fixed during the analysis. In this way, it gives birth to genuinely improvisational musical clones.
