Budapest Pálinka Festival, Castle District, 10 -13 May
Apricot and apricot pálinka plays the leading role in the 7th Annual Pálinka Festival of Budapest 2012 in the Buda Castle. Visitors will have the chance to taste hundreds of different spirits, and this year the Apricot Pálinka of the Year - a blend of the best pálinkas of Hungary - will be available for the first time. Last year the focus was on the plum, this year in addition to the usual flavors there will be a selection of special delicacies made of apricot offered at "Barackos Square".

More than 25 exhibitors and distillers will be offering their goods at Hunyadi Square and Oroszlános Square. The gastronomic experience will be complete with homemade cheese, wine, champagne and of course the house of sausages.

Visitors will have the chance to try pálinka and chocolate combined, a combination that represents a new dimension in pálinka tasting.

Apricot Pálinka of the Year is a combination of the finest apricot pálinkas made by the best distillers of Hungary (Harmatrázó, Gusto, Békési, Rézangyal, Villányi, Schiszler, Szalontai, Csalló, Rex, Hegyközi and Zwack). The Budapest Pálinka Festival will be the first opportunity to taste this limited edition pálinka, which comes in a special packaging.
