The Socialist Party has proposed a social and professional debate on making it compulsory for eligible citizens to turn out at parliamentary, local and European Parliament elections, said Népszabadság.Mandatory voting, as shown by international examples, enhances the legitimacy of governments, faith in the democratic system of institutions and voter awareness, MP Zsolt Molnár told reporters on Wednesday.
