German Planes Violate Hungary’s Airspace

Two German small planes violated Hungary’s air space from the direction of Austria Saturday morning, the Defence Ministry reported. Before the planes entered Hungarian airspace, the Hungarian authorities, the Austrian authorities and NATO headquarters in Italy attempted to identify them.
Upon being alerted, a Gripen fighter plane took off from Kecskemét. The pilot spotted the planes in Balatonkeresztúr as they were preparing to land, the Defence Ministry said. The Gripen then returned to Kecskemét air base.
Police checked identity papers and proceedings are underway.
