Two Hungarian Policemen Suspects In Assault UAE Chess Leader
Two policemen will be questioned next week on suspicion of assaulting UAE chess leader Saud Al Marzooqi in Szeged on June 1. A third policeman will be questioned as a witness. Al Marzooqi, head of the UAE chess federation, said he was beaten by border police who thought he was an illegal immigrant, UAE newspaper The National reported.

He suffered five broken ribs as well as bruises on his chest and back.

Al-Marzooqi was in Szeged to accompany 18-year-old chess player Salim Abdul-Rahman, who was preparing for August’s junior chess world championships with Hungary's Peter Leko.
