11.00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m. János Pályi: Vitéz László, puppet theatre
In this scintillating puppet glove play, Vitéz László in a red hat teaches the devils a lesson. We may even find that there are children with special juggling skills amongst the audience. Vitéz László’s „right hand”, in the very sense of the term, is János Pályi, who won awards of best puppeteer at several international and local festivals for his performance in this play.

12.00 p.m. – 1.00 p.m. Szekér Theatre: The kingdom of András, the smith
We may view the Merry Fair Comedy of Szekér Theatre on the stage at Clark Ádám tér. One fine morning, András, the smith finds himself in luck; the tricky king gives him his kingdom for one day. And as it is not an easy job and is a far from agreeable task, András, the smith soon discovers that what was shiny as gold only yesterday may well be dark and disagreeable tomorrow.

1.00 p.m. – 2.00 p.m. Lunch break
During the lunch break, the live broadcast of Hungarian Radio will entertain the audience.

2.30 p.m. – 3.00 p.m. Folk dance show

From 4.00 p.m., the programmes at Clark Ádám tér will continue with the outdoor concert of Bálint Bársony and the Sunshine Love. The band’s album entitled Sunshine Jazz released in 2009 became a platinum CD on the first day of its release, and the band were awarded the prize of best jazz CD in 2010. One of the special features of their 20 August concert is that harp artist Klári Bábel will also accompany them, and they will together invite us to join them on a genuine musical trip, from swing all the way to classical music. Members of the band: Bálint Bársony, Klári Bábel, Fanni Sárközi, Attila Rieger, Béla Piri, Gergely Tar and Balázs Végh.

5.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. Hot Jazz Band

From 5.00 p.m., one of Hungary’s most popular jazz bands will entertain the audience with a concert featuring pieces from the nineteen-twenties and thirties. The excellent musicians revive the golden age of swing with a great sense of humour and ease. The band that has been on the road for twenty years has made its mark in the popularisation of Hungarian dance music and jazz between the two World Wars but also released an album to commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of Gershwin’s birth. Whirling swing or crackling Dixieland, Charleston or rag – whatever classical style, the Hot Jazz Band presents it in a masterly fashion.
