HUF 380mn Paid To Victims Of Police In Hungary
The state has paid a total of Ft 380 million in compensation to victims of the police measures in autumn of 2006, Interior Minister Sándor Pintér told Jobbik MP Zsolt Németh in a written response.

After the 2010 change of government, the new Parliament apologised in a resolution to those injured during the August 20, 2006 fireworks display and those injured in the autumn 2006 riots and authorised the government to reach settlements with those to whom courts had not yet awarded compensation.

Indictments are being prepared against 14 suspects among the police leaders considered responsible for the 2006 police excesses, including former Budapest police chief Péter Gergényi, former national police leader László Bene and former Law Enforcement Security Service commander József Dobozi
