Hungary's State Secretary: The Primary Goal Is The Allocation of Funds
"Our goal is to utilise all available European Union rural development funding in 2013. 93% of the more than HUF 1300 billion provided for the period 2007-2013 has been allocated, with 48% having been disbursed", stressed State Secretary for Rural Development Zsolt V: Németh at the 6th Axiál Agriculture Workshop in Hajdúszoboszló. Zsolt V. Németh also reported on currently available and future tender opportunities.

Farm transfer support may be applied for unit January 31, the goal of which is to facilitate generation change within the agrarian sector. Farmers over 55 may transfer farm they own to young farmers under the age of 40 through a purchase agreement or gifting, in exchange for which they will receive a regular income supplement benefits for a predetermined period. The budget for such funding is HUF 2.5 billion.

Support for the creation of jobs outside the agrarian sector (diversification) maybe be applied for from February 15 until funding is expended. The available budget is HUF 7.8 billion, of which applicants may receive a maximum of HUF 35 million. The aim of the funding is to encourage those who make a living from agriculture to perform other income-generating business and service activities, and to help local products reach the market.

Farmers who work on areas with unfavourable capabilities and on Natura 2000 grassland and forest areas, and forest managers may all apply for funding during the first half of the year.

The objective of the Workshop, organised each year by Axiál Ltd., which markets agricultural machinery and equipment, is to inform those involved in agriculture about professional trends, events and opportunities.
