Andy Vajna Wants Nothing To Do With Hungarian Art Academy
Government commissioner for the national film industry Andy Vajna warned that he will “stand up and go home” if film makers are subordinated to the authority of the Hungarian Art Academy (MMA) led by interior designer György Fekete.

It would be intolerable for the government to transfer funds earmarked for Hungarian films along with other cultural subsidies to the MMA so that that “scandalous” body would have authority over film subsidies, Vajna told ATV on Sunday.

He spoke in reference to Human Resources Minister Zoltán Balog’s November statement that the government wants to make MMA the leading body for culture.

“If that is the goal, then I am not needed,” Vajna declared.
