Now On: Ágnes Szikra’s Exhibition: „Sensus” At The OTP Bank Gallery
An exhibition of Ágnes Szikra’s works has opened at the OTP Bank Gallery on February 11, 2013. The exhibition was introduced by József Baksai painter along with László Wolf Vice CEO of OTP Bank. Music was performed by the By Heart Quartet.

Ágnes Szikra painter completed her studies in Budapest, under the instruction of József Baksai. In the past few years, she has put on several exhibitions of her own work in Budapest, while participating in numerous group exhibitions in Berlin, Budapest, and Szentendre.

In the recent years, interest in the unique atmosphere of her work, mainly inspired by Hungarian and Swedish experiences, has increased within local and international cultures alike.

“Ági Szikra’s work is based upon things experienced. In this way, she is an emotional realist. Though her works occasionally carry realistic elements, Ági relates more to lyric abstraction. The subject is often precisely delivered through the poetic elaboration-declaration, while the form-color-composition flows and floods the spectator in instinctive, inherent waves. At times it is the reverse: the composition is assisted with intentionally harmonized colors, in the service of portraying the mood, feeling, and emotion. Often Ági is not making a picture; the picture is making her, as the heavenly bodies create the swelling and ebbing of tides.” (József Szurcsik)

Open on weekdays from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm, until March 7, 2013
Address: Budapest XIII., Babér utca 9.
