SAS, Aegean Airlines Return To Budapest
Scandinavia’s SAS airlines will return to Budapest on April 4, flying nine flights weekly to Copenhagen and Oslo, Budapest Airport announced yesterday. Aegean Airlines will return on April 9, with four flights a week to Athens.

From April 28, UTair will fly to St. Petersburg on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Negotiations are ongoing with Mahan Air on a link to Tehran, said Budapest Airport spokesman Mihály Hardy.

Despite the collapse of Malév last year, the number of passengers travelling through Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc Airport fell by only 4.7% to 8.5 million, Hardy pointed out.

Budapest Airport’s target for this year is 8.5 million passengers, as in 2012.
