Xpat Event Report: Rosalia – Rosé Wine Festival In Budapest
On a lovely sunny afternoon in Buda, we went along to the Rosalia Rosé wine festival. In “Gesztenyés kert” and on the terrace of the chic Larus Restaurant, a wide variety of wines, red, white and especially rosés, was waiting for wine-lovers. They ranged from “natural”, ice, bio to more quality mainstream.

The renowned Larus prepared some deliciously grilled and oven-baked foods to accompany them.

With some mellow jazz music playing in the background, this was a cool, relaxed way of spending a couple of hours walking around, sampling some of the wonderful rosé wines that are produced in this country.

With the reputation of Hungarian wines growing, this only is going to enhance it. And talking of growing, there was a small vineyard in the middle of this mini wine oasis.

Could this be the start of a cheeky little wine region, right on our doorstep? I hope so!
