Hungarian Government Signs Strategic Partnership Agreement With Bridgestone
The Hungarian Government concluded a strategic partnership agreement with the local unit of Japanese tyre manufacturer Bridgestone on Friday.

The pact was signed by State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó and CEO of Bridgestone Tatabánya Production Ltd. Kenji Karato.

Bridgestone inaugurated its plant in Tatabánya (Northwest Hungary) in 2008 and has decided to triple its producing capacity by 2017. The project is worth EUR 267 million.

According to the agreement, the foundation stone of the new production hall will be laid on 7 June, in the presence of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

The State Secretary said the Partnership Agreement plays an important role in strengthening economic relations with Japan, adding that this is the 2nd such agreement signed with a Japanese company out of the 24 the Government has concluded so far.
