Invitation: Celebrating Baltic & Scandinavian Midsummer Solstice Traditions, Skanzen, Hungary, 29 June
The Lithuanian community in Hungary and Embassy of Lithuania in Budapest would like to invite everybody to celebrate Scandinavian and Baltic Midsummer Solstice Traditions in Skanzen open air museum on 29th of June, this Saturday from 2 pm till 12 pm. We welcome you in Lithuanian Pub with famous Lithuanian beer and cheese.

16.00 – Opening ceremony of the festival: Swedish Maypole statement, Greeting by Mr. Gergely Prőhle, Deputy State Secretary, Scandinavian and Baltic Countries Ambassadors and Mr. Miklós Cseri, General Director
17.00 – Norwegian folk dance performed by the Norsk Folkemuseum’s Dance Group
17.30 – Choir „Spārni” (The Wings), Latvia – traditional Midsummer solstice songs
18.00 – LiKör choir
18.30 – Lithuanian Midsummer traditions, songs, folk music, dances presented by Raitai folk band; Lithuanian polyphonic songs and instrumentals „Sutartinės” (UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage).
19.00 – Norwegian folk dance performed by the Norsk Folkemuseum’s Dance Group
19.30 – Choir „Spārni” (The Wings), Latvia – traditional midsummer solstice songs
20.00 – Lithuanian midsummer traditions, songs, folk music, dances, dances presented by Raitai folk band; Lithuanian polyphonic songs and instrumentals „Sutartinés” (UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage).
20:30 – LyseNaetter band is singing traditional Midsummer songs.
20.45 – Danish tradition - burning the witch figure on the bonfire. LyseNaetter band is singing traditional Midsummer songs.
21.30 – Concert of PAABEL (Estonia)
