Day -1: Get Ready To The Non-Stop Fun At Sziget Festival In Budapest
Already settled at Sziget Festival, ready for your festival holiday? Here is your ultimate guide what you should not miss on Monday. If you stay on the island, you should not miss the wonderful Sziget Beach and extraordinary Sziget Eye, while starting from the afternoon you can check out the up-and-coming talents of Europe and many more! If you are more adventurous, you should use your Sziget-Budapest Citypass and explore the city for yourself!

Besides the colorful programs on the island you should also get your Sziget-Budapest Citypass and enjoy the discounts and the great weather! Check out our recommendations via We Love Budapest and discover the beautiful host capital of Sziget Festival! But if you prefer to stay on site, don’t forget to enjoy Sziget Beach, sip some cocktails and enjoy the sun! If you are too lazy to go sightseeing, check out the capital from the 65-meter high Sziget Eye, the ferris-wheel of the festival!

When it comes to music

Sziget Festival’s Hungarian Music Stage will be the home of European talents on days -1 and 0. YourOpen is a 2 days selection of aspiring bands, arriving from 14 different countries and eager to show their skills in front of the world’s possibly most international and open-minded crowd. The program starts at 3PM and goes all the way till late night on both days, finishing with concerts of bands involved in the Central and Eastern European Talent Exchange Program (CEETEP). Bands on Day -1 come from Hungary, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Finland, France, Spain, Germany and Serbia. Go and check them out!

From 7PM the Pop-Rock Main Stage awaits you with a special tribute program, in memory of Laszlo Bodi (aka Cipő), one of Hungary’s best known singer/songwriters who died recently. Later on you can get into the Sziget night-vibe and visit venues as the Afro-Latin Reggae Stage for some easy tunes, or the nearby Puglia Sounds-Mambo Stage for some real Italian hospitality.

We also recommend you to visit the Hungaricum village, as some serious Hungarian dance moves are waiting for you to learn! In the Gourmet Quarter Wine-and Fröccs Garden you can also dance and try out some great Hungarian wines! Just make sure you have some energy left for the rest of the week!

The Axe Space Station will also open its doors where DJ Paplan will guide us to Day 0 of the festival!
