Invitation: Festive Programmes At Balaton Shore In Hungary, 20 August
Fireworks around Lake Balaton at different locations: Balatonfüred Balatonlelle Keszthely Siófok Zamárdi Zánka. Other free programmes of the national festivity series

Balatonboglár
The citadel of Balaton wine and champagne, a favourite hiking and camping destination on the Southern shore.

Balatonfüred
The capital of the Balaton’s Northern shore, which is proud to hold the title the Town of Grape and Wine, oozes the harmony of past and present.

Balatonlelle
The silky waters of the Balaton, the town’s unique micro-climate, medieval history and rich natural treasures make Lelle an interesting destination.

Fonyód
Fonyód is the “town of pleasures and leisure”, and offers the most breathtaking panorama of the Balaton, stretching from the Bay of Keszthely to the Tihany Peninsula.

Keszthely
Visitors are awaited by a townscape redolent with age, decades of history, Hungary’s most fastidiously restored and furnished castle and a vibrant cultural life.

Révfülöp
This village built at the Southern foot of the 274-metre high Fülöp Hill, is the Southern entrance of the Káli Basin and, due to the relative proximity of the opposite shore of the Balaton, has been an ancient harbour with ideal natural features and welcoming people.

Siófok
The “capital of summer”, with its 17 km shore-line built around the mouth of the River Sió, is the Balaton’s longest settlement, where life is always vibrant.

Tihany
Being the Balaton’s most spectacular town, it offers breathtaking natural wonders, rich cultural and historical sites, not to mention peace and quite for all visitors.

Veszprém
Veszprém is a quiet, coy town which demands your attention. You must take lengthy walks on its streets and squares to fully appreciate its unique soul. You must listen to the tolling of the bells, observe its walls and buildings. The hills and valleys of Veszprém, arches and towers, sloping narrow streets and vast open spaces hide many a secret waiting to be discovered. Getting lost is practically impossible as the Veszprém Castle is located at the very centre of the town.

Zamárdi
The Balaton’s youngest town offers fun and leisure for everyone – not just young people.

Zánka
Due to its natural features, Zánka has its very own long Balaton shore-line, where a large beach and port with a capacity of 12-13,000 people await visitors looking to bathe, do sports, sail, take boat-rides or simply relax.
