Event Report: Street Food Show, Budapest
I was intrigued to find out exactly what street food was on offer this weekend, in downtown Pest, at the historic Hold Street covered market hall. To my surprise, so were many more, who gravitated to this very popular occasion. Held in the elevated part of the market, you could meander around and take your pick at the many different foods and drinks on offer.

Top urban eateries, like crispy twisted ham-and-cheese bread by the gourmet Brót Bakery, the Mexican Arriba Taqueria, succulent sausages from the countryside grilled by KOLBice, “New York” sandwiches served fresh by the Pastrami deli and American specialties from the Zing Burger food truck were participating among others. Numerous desserts, along with great coffee, craft beers and assorted Hungarian wines were presented.

After a summer of several festivals, both food and drink, this could have been almost a private/invites only affair, hidden away near the Bank Center. It was not so, as it turned out. Word had obviously got round as many people tucked into something that took their fancy.
