Fischer, General Manager, Corinthia Hotel Budapest: "We are genuinely proud of, and it is a great honour for our hotel to act as host of such a quality event series which, I would add, is perfectly in keeping with the standard of Corinthia Hotel Budapest. It is a particular pleasure for us to be able to work together with such excellent actors and actresses.

We have put together a programme that neatly integrates into the life of the city and the hotel, and what’s more the autumn season that is just starting. With the end of the summer, the theatre season gets going again, performances are launched and stage life comes back into focus.

The wave of summer festivals in Budapest has peaked and as autumn and the grape harvest approach the spotlight shifts from open-air programmes to gastronomy and culinary events. We in the hotel had also different programmes during the summer, but from September matters in this area are once again taking off, and this brand-new, unique programme series is the perfect flagship for the season.

For many years the Royal Atrium Restaurant has been the venue for exceptional events such as the wine & dining evenings, classical music gastronomy soirées and even interactive dinners including the Mystery of the Royal. Over the course of this year we have marked the 10th anniversary of the reopening of the hotel with numerous events, and I am certain that Melodies and Dinner in Corinthia is a fine way of continuing this celebration and further enhancing the outstanding reputation of Corinthia Hotel Budapest."



Joel Khalil, Executive Chef: "It is a great pleasure for me to be able to work on the recipes of such famous Hungarian actors and actresses, thereby contributing to this totally unique and successful series. Melodies and Dinner in Corinthia perfectly fits the concept that we have been pursuing and implementing in the gastronomy of the hotel for years.

While preparing traditional and popular Hungarian dishes we always strive to give added value to the recipes and create culinary compositions, in which our primary aim is the rethinking of Hungarian cuisine through healthy nutrition. Every recipe is a little bit different, a bit more special, in some way. I am talking about minor changes only, yet they mean a lot when it comes to taking care of our health.

It really matters how one goes about preparing even a simple paprika chicken dish or a meat stew; we always give our best and make sure that dishes reflect our innovative attitude. It is our hope that this positive approach will become widespread. It is my ultimate aim to serve dishes – in Hungarian cuisine, too – that successfully allow us to tackle the twin problems of obesity and high cholesterol.

This programme series represents an exciting challenge for me because I will have to work on the magnificent recipes of these great artists is such a way that I preserve as much of their originality as possible while still adding the values that are represented by our hotel. I can’t wait for the first Melodies and Dinner in Corinthia."
