Budapest Airport Cuts Parking Fees
Budapest Airport has further reduced prices in some of its car parks, in accordance with the needs of passengers and visitors to the airport. Meanwhile, the online booking system introduced during the summer has been fine-tuned to offer more flexibility.

From now on, parking in Budapest Airport’s Holiday Car Park can cost as little as 863 HUF per day, provided that customers book online and leave their cars at the airport for 8 days, i.e. the duration of an average holiday. This is one of the new features introduced by Budapest Airport, in response to feedback from passengers. The other important change is that the minimum time limit for online booking has been reduced from 24 to 12 hours prior to arrival at the car park. Thus, passengers have greater flexibility for bookings, whilst Budapest Airport’s car park managers are able to better manage available capacities.

The airport operator introduced online bookings for its car parks this summer, and the new system quickly became popular with passengers. The discounts offered for online booking, whereby savings of 30-50 % can be made in some car parks, have been very well received. Now, based on feedback from passengers, the minimum advance time limit for online booking has been reduced from 24 to 12 hours.

Budapest Airport offers four very distinct parking products in terms of price and service, which are adjusted to travel habits and passengers’ wallets. The Premium Car Park, located on the kerbside directly in front of the terminals, is the most expensive, and provides unparalleled comfort for short-term parking of 30-60 minutes. The Terminal Car Park is ideal for short-term parking for arriving and departing passengers and their companions.

The Business Car Park is tailored to the needs of business travelers, usually for 2-3-4 days, whilst the Holiday and Holiday Plus Car Parks offer options for holiday-makers leaving for at least a week. Prices for one week in the latter have been formulated in such a way that they should be more favorable than a taxi tariff to the city and back.

“We continue to keep a close eye on the ever-changing needs of our customers, and adjust not only our services, but also our prices accordingly,” said Manel Moreno, head of kerbside management for Budapest Airport. “The online booking system has been further developed, so that it is not only accessible from traditional computers, but also from tablets and smartphones, whilst the reduction of the minimum advance time limit makes the services even more comfortable for passengers,” he added.
